Management Team
Robin is the Founder and Managing Director of Venturehaus.
He has considerable expertise in operational strategy and management,
large-scale business improvement, company turnaround and change implementation
projects in start-up, high growth and mature situations. He started
his business career as a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma methods with
GE Capital and from there went on to run Citigroup’s client account operations for the Global Corporate & Investment
Bank in Europe. On joining Xchanging, a large VC-backed Business Process Outsourcing
company in 2000, Robin was responsible for the operational aspects of acquiring
and integrating the back-offices of Lloyd’s of London and the International
Underwriting Association.
He founded Venturehaus in January 2002 and has since
advised on and led numerous Six Sigma deployments and operational change programmes
in banking, insurance, wealth management and commercial finance. In the last
4 years Robin has trained over 500 financial services managers in Six Sigma and
is an adviser to senior executives at some of the UK’s largest financial
institutions.
Robin graduated with an Honours degree from Oxford Brookes University
before attending the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and serving 6 years as
an Army Officer. He has international work experience in Europe, Africa and Asia,
and is fluent in German.
Alan is Co-Founder and a Managing Director of Venturehaus.
He has 26 years' experience of business development and transformation in financial
and administration services. Prior to Venturehaus, Alan led the creation of a
Corporate Banking practice for IBM Business Consulting Services, specialising
in business strategy, business transformation, and organisational change. Before
this, Alan spent over 20 years with Citigroup in several different businesses.
During this long career Alan held executive management positions in customer
and business strategy; country, subsidiary and branch management; corporate and
institutional client relationship management; transaction banking product management
and sales; middle and back-office administration; and treasury, banking and investment
operations.
Alan has a track record of restructuring, developing, improving and
managing services businesses, in onshore and offshore locations, in financial
markets and banking services, investment management and third-party administration.
He has brought this to bear in Venturehaus by advising senior Financial Services
executives at a strategic level in deploying their business improvement initiatives,
in training and coaching managers to execute these strategies, and in leading
successful change programmes in their businesses.
Alan has a Masters degree from
Oxford University, has worked in the UK, US and Continental Europe, and is bilingual
in German and fluent in French.
Paul is Director at Venturehaus, and a member of the Executive
Management Team. He is also a renowned expert in the strategic deployment of
Lean in Financial Services.
Prior to joining Venturehaus, Paul was a Lean Leader
at GE Life and GE Commercial Finance, where he
spearheaded the roll-out of Lean in Europe and
its integration into GE’s Lean Sigma initiative. At GE, Paul was recognised globally for
the successful launch of Lean into the company’s financial services businesses.
Paul has successfully deployed Lean in 2 different financial services environments
across both front and back offices, and has personally trained and coached over
60 Black Belts and Master Black Belts. Working within the businesses, he has
taken the lead in over 55 successful Lean events.
Prior to joining GE, Paul demonstrated a proven track record in Change Management,
Six Sigma and Business Process Re-Engineering in the Aerospace industry and is
an accomplished Six Sigma coach. He has 14 years of management experience in
both Sales and Operational roles and has considerable leadership experience from
his time as a commissioned officer in the Royal Air Force.
Paul has an honours
degree from Portsmouth University.
Mark Storey is Non-Executive Director and a Board Member of Venturehaus.
Mark has over 22 years experience in private equity.
He spent 17 years with BancBoston Capital (BBC),
where he became the Managing Director, responsible
for the development capital and buyout activities
of the group within the UK. Between 1986 and 2000
he led the investment in twenty-nine private companies, including successful
lead investments in Games Workshop, Caffè Nero, Blue Wave Systems, Unity
Brands, Sorex and Menzies Hotels. On leaving BBC in 2001 he also became a non-executive
director and chairman of the audit committee of Fleet Bank (Europe) Limited,
the FSA-regulated banking subsidiary of FleetBoston Financial Corporation; a
position he held until 2004.
In 2004 he joined the board of Mediterranean Mezzanine
as a non-executive director, one of the first mezzanine funds to be formed in
Italy. In 2002 Mark founded Alcuin Capital, an independent private equity investment
company targeting smaller UK growth companies and in 2006, joined Core Capital
to continue his focus in this area.
Mark graduated from Balliol College, Oxford
with a BA in History and later gained an MA in History from Birkbeck College,
