Management Team
Robin is the Founder and Managing Director of Venturehaus.
He has considerable experience in operational strategy and management, large-scale
business improvement, company turnaround and change implementation in start-up,
high growth and mature situations. He has been working in the City for over 10
years and prior to establishing Venturehaus, he worked for GE Capital, Citigroup
and Xchanging.
Robin founded Venturehaus in January 2002 and has since advised on and supported
operational change programmes in banking, insurance, wealth management and commercial
finance. Although primarily focused on running and growing Venturehaus, Robin
continues to provide consulting to senior executives at leading global financial
corporations in the UK, US and Asia.
Robin graduated with an Honours degree from Oxford Brookes University before
attending the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and serving 6 years as an Army
Officer. He has worked internationally in Europe, Africa and Asia, and is fluent
in German.
Alan is the Co-founder, Co-owner and a Managing Director of Venturehaus Limited.
He is a Senior Executive with personal CEO and Board-level experience in Banking
and Securities organisations, and a Managing Director with proven success in
developing businesses and client relationships at senior levels.
He has a track record of building, re-structuring and managing financial services
businesses in UK and European onshore and offshore markets, and also has extensive
operations management, business improvement, and quality assurance expertise.
He now has over 30 years of in-depth financial services experience, covering
all aspects of wholesale and retail banking, securities, and investment management.
After an accomplished, international 22-year career with one of the world’s
leading financial organisations (Citibank), he led the creation of a business
consulting practice for IBM in banking, before setting up Venturehaus 8 years
ago. During this long career Alan held executive management positions in customer
and business strategy; region, country, subsidiary and branch management; corporate
and institutional client relationship management; transaction banking product
management and sales; middle and back-office administration; and treasury, banking
and investment operations. He was latterly the Programme Director for the operational
elements of the pan-European optimisation programme (a major restructuring and
transformation of the legal vehicle structures, operational footprint and banking
platforms across all 18 Western European countries), and the Regional Director
of Quality for the UK and Ireland offshore markets. Alan has a Masters degree
from Oxford University, has worked in the UK, US and Continental Europe, and
is bilingual in German and fluent in French.
He has co-developed Venturehaus’ Design for Operational ExcellenceTM approach,
including methodologies, training curricula and business process simulations
specifically designed for financial services businesses. He has been involved
in most of Venturehaus’ engagements with over 50 financial institutions
clients, at both an executive and a delivery level, and has personally advised,
trained and coached over 1,000 executives and senior managers across the industry.
Paul is a Director of Venturehaus, and former Quality Leader at GE Capital and
GE Life, and a recognised expert in the strategic deployment of Lean in financial
services. Paul has successfully deployed Lean in multiple financial and other
services environments across both front and back offices and is the principal
architect of Venturehaus’ own approach to Lean in Services.
He has taken
the lead in over 150 successful Lean interventions generating benefits in excess
of £200million and has personally trained and coached over 200 Lean Experts.
Prior to joining Venturehaus in 2005, Paul was a Lean Leader at GE Life and GE
Commercial Finance, where he was responsible for the strategy, planning and roll-out
of Lean across Europe and his work was instrumental in the integration into GE’s
Lean Sigma initiative. At GE, Paul was recognised globally for the successful
launch of Lean into the company’s financial services businesses.
Before
joining GE, Paul had demonstrated a track record in Change Management, Six Sigma
and Business Process Re-Engineering in the Aerospace industry where, for instance,
he was Head of the Pan-European Continuous Improvement Programme at FLS. He has
20 years of management experience in both Sales and Operational roles and has
considerable leadership experience from his time as a commissioned officer in
the RAF. Paul has an honours degree from Portsmouth University.
Paul has been
involved in almost all of Venturehaus’ Lean engagements, and has also trained
Lean experts at 2 major global consultancy firms. He has recently led Lean deployments
in AEGON Scottish Equitable, Barclays, CIT, ABN AMRO and Department for Work
and Pensions (the largest Lean deployment to date in Europe), and has also run
Lean engagements at Bear Stearns, Beckett Investment Management, Capital One,
Just Retirement, Barclaycard, and Standard Life.
