Simulation Products
LoanHaus™
LoanHaus™ is the fourth industry-specific training
product launched by Venturehaus since 2004, adding another
unique dimension to their portfolio of financial services
training courses and role-play simulations, which includes
Premium Service™(Insurance Premium Accounting); Activator™ (Personal, Premier and Private Bank Account Opening)
and VentureCard™ (Credit Card Applications Processing).
As part of Venturehaus’ Six Sigma, Lean and Operational
Excellence training programmes, LoanHaus™ enables
students from banking and other financial services organisations
to learn and apply Process Improvement methods and techniques
within a familiar, relevant and therefore memorable context.
LoanHaus™ has been designed fully to represent the departmental
operations and processes involved in the processing,
approval and administration of customer applications
for personal loans. LoanHaus™ recreates the front,
middle and back offices of a lending business belonging
to a major bank. The unit processes loan applications
on behalf of intermediaries selling Motor, Cash and Debt
Consolidation Loans across 3 customer segments: sub-prime,
prime and super-prime.
The core process is paper based and involves
compliance and Know Your Customer procedures, credit
scoring, risk referrals, loan approval and administration
of the loan repayment terms. Also incorporated are internal
Service Level Agreements and management reporting. The
organisational and process issues inherent in the operational
unit are derived from real and typical issues found in
most retail financial services companies, adding a stark
realism to the training experience. With typical cultural,
operational, procedural and process issues built into
the role-play game from the start, LoanHaus™ serves
as a highly relevant and practical case study to be used
for training purposes. It provides students with the
opportunity to run a Lean Event and/or a full Six Sigma
DMAIC improvement project on the underlying lending business
in a realistic but simulated environment, teaching them
how to conduct such projects in real life when they return
to their offices.
