Activator™
Activator™ is a role play business process simulation
for inclusion in Venturehaus Lean Six Sigma training
courses, or can be run as a stand-alone Lean, Six Sigma
or team building workshop.
Activator™ simulates a Centralised
back office utility of a major UK bank, providing account
activation processing services on behalf of 3 Product
Groups. The core process involves KYC and Documentation,
Risk Referrals, Credit Checking and the allocation of
available Credit Facility, and the activation of the
account on the books of the issuing Business Unit. In
particular, Activator represents the typical challenges
faced by Back Office operational departments when dealing
with Front and Middle Office Customers and Stakeholders.
Whilst many of the organisational and process issues
inherent in the centralised operations unit are exaggerated,
they are derived from real and typical issues found in
most financial services companies. Such issues are prevalent
in most transaction processing operations, and the role
play simulation helps students to learn, understand and
apply the concepts and tools of Lean Six Sigma process
improvement within a familiar context.
